The first thing to do with the Scirocco was to thoroughly inspect the braking system, while the VW was on a lift.
Next, Tom Kor carefully checked the wheel cylinders and found that they needed replacing. Along with new cylinders, the VW was in need of a set of rear brakes pads too.
Left & right - while Tom was inspecting the brake lines and related components, Vince began the drilling process on the rear drums. Two drums can be precision drilled simultaneously on a specially adapted drill press machine.
After the drums are drilled, the rotors are inspected and drilled.
Holding a tool as a pointer, Tom shows where the holes were drilled for the most effectiveness against brake fade.
The last step was to install the new Repco BMX-B metallic pads on the front rotors.
